Yarn Options:

  1.  Acrylic Yarn: Affordable, easy to find, and comes in a wide range of colors and weights. It's easy to trim and shear but has lower durability, making it suitable for wall rugs. However, it's synthetic and not biodegradable.

  2.  Wool Yarn: The most durable and expensive option. Wool is perfect for floor rugs due to its sturdiness and ability to withstand wear. It's easy to tuft, carve, and shear, making it ideal for intricate designs.

  3.  Cotton Yarn: A soft and durable natural yarn, available in many colors. It's affordable in small quantities but can get expensive in larger amounts. While it's good for basic projects, it's not ideal for complex, detailed designs due to its difficulty in shearing. Eco-friendly options, such as recycled cotton, are also available.

Backing Options:

  • The standard backing used is non-slip felt, usually in black. Customizing the backing to another color is possible but requires an upcharge, as it involves using pad grippers to maintain the non-slip effect, which is ideal for hard floor surfaces.
